Rear spiral bevel designed for X-MAXX

The STXM1200R rear spiral bevel gear is an aftermarket replacement compatible with TRAXXAS X-MAXX drivetrains. Built from hard steel, it is intended to mirror the fit and tooth profile of the original X-MAXX rear bevel set without implying additional capability.

Use this part for replacing worn or broken rear bevel gears or when examining drivetrain wear as part of scheduled service. Exact fitting procedures depend on the chassis and should follow the vehicle manual or a qualified technician's instructions.

Installation checks should include correct gear mesh, bearing inspection, shaft seating, and suitable lubrication and clearance checks before the first test run. Consider this an aftermarket drivetrain spare for model use.

Good material quality vs stock. But I think the ring gear needs to be designed better! As the meshing is too loose. The ring gear needs to be a bit thicker like the stock one to move the teeth closer to the pinion. Shimming the pinion helps a little bit.
No modification should be required if your chassis uses the stock X-MAXX geometry; always measure key interfaces and compare with your existing parts before fitting.
After assembly, rotate the drivetrain by hand to confirm smooth engagement, recheck fastener tightness, and perform a short low-speed run to verify lubrication and mesh.
Hard steel offers durability for the bevel itself, but overall drivetrain longevity depends on bearings, shafts, and correct setup rather than material alone.
