About the 46mm Double Cardan Shafts

The Tamiya 51761 kit provides two 46mm drive shafts for use with double cardan joints and comes in the ball bearing version to lower rotational friction in the driveline. These shafts are specified for the TRF421X chassis and may be installed as replacements on TRF421X (Item 42391) or fitted to the TRF421 standard chassis as an upgrade (Item 42384) when used with the supporting parts.

The ball bearing arrangement reduces speed loss through the joint under steering load, helping to keep power delivery more consistent through corners. For correct TRF421 installation, combine these shafts with Item 51762 Ball Bearing Set for Universal Shafts, Item 51763 TRF421X Front Direct Cups (2pcs.), and Item 51764 TRF421X Gear Differential Joints (Ball Bearing Type) as shown in Tamiya service documentation.
