The Su-15, known by NATO as the "Flagon", was developed in the 1950s and remained in front-line use until the early 1990s. With performance above Mach 2.4 and a design built around mid-mounted delta wings and robust engines, the aircraft served as a primary interceptor for its era.
This 1:72 scale kit from Trumpeter recreates the Flagon-A using 100 plastic parts to capture signature features like its streamlined nose and bubble canopy. The accurate finished length of 320.24mm and wingspan of 118.73mm ensures the model sits well with other scale jets in a display.
The Su-15 model provides a compact representation of Cold War interceptor development and pairs effectively with contemporaries for narrative display. Selecting authentic markings and finishes will emphasise its period role when exhibited.
