The Vickers Wellington became well known for its geodetic construction and service during the early years of the war. This twin-engined medium bomber is recreated in the Trumpeter 1/72 WELLINGTON Mk.X kit, which captures the aircrafts distinctive shape and structure for enthusiasts and modellers.
First entering service in 1937, the Wellington served across many early operations and showcased the effectiveness of its unique build. The Mk.X adopted a light alloy fuselage that altered its operational profile, and examples remained in service until the early 1950s in various support roles.
The kit includes 214 plastic parts on 11 sprues, resulting in a model 188 mm long with a 229 mm wingspan. Builders can set the optional position flaps for different display looks. Although there are no photo-etched or resin parts in the box, the plastic components are detailed and engineered for an accurate 1/72 result.
The finished WELLINGTON Mk.X makes a worthwhile addition to a WWII aircraft lineup or a study collection. Proper finishing techniques accentuate the geodetic detailing and result in an informative scale representation of the original bomber.
