The A-37B Dragonfly was developed as an improved version of the A-37 Super Tweet, offering greater robustness and power to meet operational needs. This upgrade allowed the type to carry approximately 2.67 tons of payload and hold about 1,920 litres of fuel for extended tasking.
Notable alterations include moving the pitot tube to the leading edge of the vertical tail and fitting a refuelling probe on the fuselage in many marks. Export machines often had the probe shortened or removed, which is reflected in variant options.
