This 1:700 scale plastic model represents the US Navy OS2U observation seaplane and is intended for use with small-scale naval displays and ship modelling projects.
The Vought OS2U Kingfisher originated in the late 1930s as a single-engine observation and scout floatplane for the United States Navy. It performed duties from battleships and cruisers such as artillery spotting, search and rescue, and short-range reconnaissance during the early stages of World War II, generally catapult-launched and recovered by crane after water landings.
The kit renders the essential external form and wing layout of the OS2U in miniature. Components are supplied on several sprues to aid assembly and painting. A decal sheet with US NAVY markings for one option is included. The small finished footprint suits placement beside 1:700 ship models or within compact display cases.
A compact, historically inspired seaplane kit that complements 1:700 ship models and offers a small, accurate subject for display or study of period aircraft markings.
