The USS Arleigh Burke (DDG-51) is a notable modern warship named for Admiral Arleigh Albert Burke. As the prototype for its class, it introduced new naval capabilities and systems. The hull was laid in 1988, launched in 1989 and commissioned in 1991, using advanced propulsion and weapons technology.
Trumpeter's 1/350 scale kit faithfully renders the ship's profile and deck detail. With an overall length near 439mm and close to 400 parts, the kit provides a detailed assembly suited to collectors and experienced modellers.
The active-duty Arleigh Burke has a displacement around 8,885 tons and can surpass 30 knots powered by four LM2500-30 gas turbines. This model mirrors operational elements such as the Mk 41 VLS and the Phalanx CIWS to reflect the destroyer's combat equipment.
