The USS The Sullivans (DD-537) memorialises the five Sullivan brothers who died aboard the cruiser Juneau in World War II. Trumpeter's 1:700 kit presents the destroyer in compact form, offering historical context alongside a rewarding modelling project.
After being launched on April 4, 1943 and entering service later that year, The Sullivans played numerous roles in the Pacific theatre. Tasks included plane guarding, shore bombardment and anti-Kamikaze operations off Okinawa. The ship was awarded nine battle stars in WWII and two additional stars during the Korean War.
The kit allows a choice between waterline and full hull display. Containing 121 plastic parts across seven sprues and detailed hull sections, it offers precise moulding and a compact footprint ideal for shelf displays or grouped fleet presentations.
