The Trumpeter 1:72 Sd.kfz.9/1 model recreates an influential German recovery vehicle from the World War II period. Designed by FAMO from 1936 and entering production from 1939, the Sd.kfz.9 was the largest half-track in service. This kit represents the 6-ton crane equipped variant on the Sd.kfz.9 18t "FAMO" chassis and references the Maybach HL108TUKRM 250 horsepower engine historically linked to the vehicle.
The completed model measures 141.3 mm in length, 38.1 mm in width and 58 mm in height, faithfully reflecting the original proportions. The set contains 332 plastic parts, providing detailed assemblies and realistic surface features for modellers who value authenticity.
This Sd.kfz.9/1 is well suited to display alongside other WWII military models. The mix of full-length tracks and three tyres creates a period-correct profile, and the German Army decal options support historically accurate markings for diorama or cabinet displays.
