This 1:72 scale plastic kit represents the Henschel-production German Sd.Kfz.186 Jagdtiger and is targeted at collectors and modellers who appreciate historically faithful small-scale armour.
The Jagdtiger was conceived in early 1943 as a heavy tank destroyer to engage armoured targets at longer ranges. A wooden mock-up was presented in October 1943 and by February 1944 two prototype suspension variants had been produced: a Porsche-sprung design with eight roadwheels and a Henschel-sprung design with nine roadwheels. Originally named Jagdpanzer VI, the design later took the Jagdtiger name and the Sd.Kfz.186 designation. Production commenced intermittently from mid-1944 and was restricted by other wartime demands.
The kit details below are confined to the supplied components. It faithfully reproduces the Henschel-production external profile and nine-roadwheel suspension at 1:72 scale. Part counts, sprue layout, and a decal sheet for a three-colour German camouflage are included. For accurate finishes, modellers should consult period photographs and reference works.
A compact, accurate depiction of the Henschel-production Jagdtiger with detailed suspension and a three-colour decal option; suitable for display builds and reference-based modelling at 1:72.
