The German Sd.kfz.186 Jagdtiger was conceived as a heavy tank destroyer in World War II, intended to counter armoured threats and infantry from long range. Work began in February 1943 and a wooden mock-up was displayed to Adolf Hitler in October, an important point in its development. The vehicle was initially known under the Jagdpanzer VI designation before the Jagdtiger title became established.
Two prototype variants featured different suspension solutions by Porsche and Henschel. The Henschel variant, recognisable by nine road wheels, entered production in July 1944 after a planned December 1943 production date was postponed due to higher priority for other armoured projects such as the Pz.Kpfw V Panther.
The Trumpeter 07254 pack allows modellers to build the Jagdtiger at 1:72 scale with 92 parts that reproduce external detail faithfully. The decal sheet provides the German three-colour sand/green/brown camouflage for accurate markings and display-ready finishes.
