This aftermarket steel large bevel gear is supplied as a 2 piece set and is designed for Tamiya TT02 and TT02B chassis in 1/10 scale applications. The part replaces the original bevel gear in the TT02 family where a hardened steel option is selected to extend service intervals.
In a TT02 gearbox the large bevel gear passes drive from the pinion and spur train to the differential and wheels; installing steel alters how the drivetrain wears and how it feels in use. When fitting, follow standard TT02 dismantle procedures, set correct mesh with the pinion gear, inspect bearings and adjacent parts, and apply suitable diff and gear lubricant before testing on the track.
Intended for maintenance replacement or modest durability upgrades, note that steel-to-plastic contact can accelerate wear on nearby components if bearing condition or gear alignment is poor.
