Detailed Look at the DP-YD2 Rear Diffuser

This RC-scale rear diffuser is made for the DP-YD2 platform and is offered as wide and narrow profiles so builders can tune rear-end performance on scale drift and touring cars. It is intended to mate with DP-YD2 body mounting positions and is not a component for real vehicles.

In use the diffuser is a tuning accessory: the wide profile enlarges the diffuser outline to modify rear body airflow compared with the narrow profile, and swapping between them is a practical method to manage rear traction, yaw response, and clearance for varying track demands.

Installation fits to the DP-YD2 rear body mounts and follows standard RC assembly practice; always confirm body alignment and sufficient wheel-to-body clearance after changing diffuser width to avoid interference during suspension travel. Use moderate thread-lock on metal fasteners where needed to maintain long-term fitment.

Retain both parts as a compact tuning set for incremental changes to rear behaviour while you refine the DP-YD2 setup.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The diffuser is intended for DP-YD2 bodies that preserve the original rear mount positions; if a shell has been modified, check the rear mount locations and clearances before installing.
The narrow profile offers greater clearance and is often better on tight, technical tracks where preventing body contact is more important than maximum rear downforce.
Perform back-to-back runs in the same conditions, record differences in turn-in and rear traction, and adjust gradually to determine which profile suits your driving style and circuit.
Yes, keeping both wide and narrow pieces in the pit box allows quick swaps during practice to fine tune rear behaviour as track conditions evolve.
