The XRAY 302972 X4 Rear Shock Holder is crafted from Swiss 7075 T6 aluminium to give a precise, durable mounting solution for rear dampers. Intended for the X4 series, it permits shim-based angle changes that refine turn-in and overall stability while lowering the centre of gravity by 4.5mm. The set contains two black anodised holders for a professional finish.

Lowering the shock mount by 4.5mm reduces the centre of gravity which can lead to flatter cornering and more predictable balance, assuming the rest of the setup complements the change.

Is fitting reversible if I do not like the change?

Yes. As this is a direct replacement, you can refit the original holders to return to the previous geometry if needed. Keep original screws and shims handy during the swap.

How should I check alignment after installation?

Use a setup board or measure ride height and shock length against baseline figures. Drive a few laps and note understeer or oversteer tendencies, then adjust shims, oil or springs accordingly.
