High Precision XRAY 303066-O T4'17 Layshaft Bulkhead

The XRAY 303066-O T4'17 Aluminum Layshaft Bulkhead is a carefully made upgrade to improve handling consistency. Produced from Swiss 7075 T6 aluminium, it offers dependable strength while keeping weight reasonable for race setups.

Improved Chassis Flex and Fixed Bearing Location

CNC machining positions the layshaft bulkheads 1mm lower, enabling removal of the top-deck fasteners and creating a 1mm gap between the top deck and the bulkheads. That gap prevents top-deck contact with the bulkheads so chassis flex becomes more controlled and the bearing stays fixed for reliable drivetrain alignment.

Shim Adjustment and Corrosion Resistance

For added stiffness a 1mm shim can be fitted between the layshaft bulkheads and the top deck to reduce flex. The orange anodised coating not only looks clean on the car but also helps resist corrosion for longer service life.

Does this part change the car geometry?

No significant geometry changes occur; the design alters mounting height to control flex without moving primary drivetrain alignments.

Is fitting the shim reversible?

Yes, adding or removing the 1mm shim is a reversible change, allowing quick setup trials to find the best flex level for particular tracks.
