How do I decide on trial diameters?

Start from the 1.0mm as a baseline and move to thicker wires if you need less roll or to thinner wires for a freer rear. Keep notes of each change so you can evaluate lap-to-lap differences.

Will the markings wear off with use?

The laser-etched markings are designed to be durable, but check them periodically after heavy use or impacts. Replace the wire if markings become unreadable or if the wire shows deformation.
