XRAY 365727: Race-Grade Pinion

Upgrade to the XRAY 365727 Aluminium Pinion Gear for a race-oriented component made from hard-coated 7075 T6 aluminium. The combination of low mass and a protective surface finish supports reliable track-day performance.

Fine Tooth Shaping for Consistent Mesh

Precision machining yields consistent tooth shapes that lower vibration and help the motor run smoothly under load. The design also simplifies setting a correct mesh with your spur gear.

Etched Identification and Practical Compatibility

Teeth counts are etched onto the gear for easy identification during gear changes. This 27T/48P pinion fits many common setups where a hard-coated aluminium pinion is preferred for longevity.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some XRAY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Lifespan depends on use and maintenance, but the hard coating delays surface wear and improves resistance to pitting compared with untreated aluminium gears.
Pairing requires a compatible 48P spur. Check the spur pitch and tooth profile to ensure smooth engagement and avoid excessive wear on either gear.
Look for rounded or chipped teeth, increased noise, or uneven wear patterns. If gear mesh deteriorates or damage is visible, replace the pinion to protect the motor and spur.
Avoid cross-threading during installation and keep the thread free of dirt. Hand-start the pinion, then use the correct torque to avoid stripping the internal thread.
The hard coat alters surface hardness but not the basic geometry. Ensure correct mesh with the spur and run a few slow test laps to confirm smooth engagement after fitting.
