Aftermarket shaft cores for XRT 8S dampers

These shaft cores are produced as replacement parts for the TRAXXAS XRT 8S and are suitable for GPM shock assemblies. The shafts use 4140 medium carbon steel with 7075 aluminium where specified, and the diameter is enlarged from the stock 5.0mm to 7.0mm to reduce bending and deformation while keeping compatibility with original shock bodies.

The parts are designed for front or rear damper positions and are compatible with both GPM and factory shock absorbers for the stated model. An oil seal replaces the conventional O-ring arrangement to smooth piston travel and improve oil retention under dynamic loads.

When replacing shafts, confirm piston and seal dimensions, check that the shaft slides freely in the shock body before full assembly, and keep shock oil and valving consistent with your tuning objectives. The swap mainly improves shaft durability and straightness rather than changing damping rates.
