High traction main chassis by Yokomo Y2-002ZMGA

The Yokomo Y2-002ZMGA high traction main chassis is manufactured from 2.5mm matte graphite and designed specifically for YD-2R rear motor configurations. The chassis aims to tune rear feel and deliver steadier cornering through controlled material flex.

Why the chassis improves turn-in

Carefully placed cutouts increase the chassis' rear suppleness so roll motion is passed to the rear tyres more efficiently. That transfer results in steadier cornering performance and better feedback for precise steering adjustments.

Vertical versus horizontal battery options

This chassis supports the stock horizontal rear battery arrangement and also allows a vertical battery when used with the optional graphite battery holder Y2-118CG (sold separately). A vertical pack moves weight rearwards to increase traction but removes the option to use the upper deck post.

Yes. The chassis flex influences rear traction under throttle, which can smooth acceleration out of corners but may require small setup changes to balance steering.
Handle graphite with care during installation to avoid chipping. Use correct screw lengths and even torque to prevent stress concentrations around mounting holes.
Yes. Pairing this chassis with firmer springs or shock tuning can reduce overall chassis roll while keeping the benefit of increased rear traction.
Moving to a vertical pack shifts weight rearwards and raises rear grip, but expect changes in roll and steering response. Test small increments to find the best balance for your setup.
