Straightforward Mounting Procedure

Precision cutting helps the gear locate correctly on standard motor shafts and the supplied 3 x 3mm set screw secures it in position to minimise slippage. It is good practice to recheck the set screw and mesh after the first few runs.

If your touring car uses a 48-pitch pinion and the motor shaft diameter matches, the BM-4818A is suitable. Confirm your gearset spec before ordering.
Ensure the set screw is tightened correctly and avoid overtightening. Use thread locker sparingly if required and recheck after initial runs.
Select a different 48-pitch tooth count to alter final drive characteristics. Lower tooth counts favour acceleration while higher counts increase top speed, depending on motor and gearing.
Use a light gear lubricant on the mating spur if required by your setup, but avoid heavy greases that can attract debris and accelerate wear.
