Yokomo MS-SSL180: softer 1.80 linear springs for better grip

The Yokomo MS-SSL180 linear shock springs are engineered for the MS1.0 chassis, offering a softer 1.80 rate in purple. These springs improve front-end grip on outdoor asphalt, helping the car hold its line through fast corners. Using a 1.80 front with a 1.85 rear is a tried and tested way to find a neutral handling balance.

How to tune for paved circuits

Fit the 1.80 at the front and fine-tune damping and rear spring rate to suit grip levels. Small changes to toe and camber can complement the softer front springs and deliver steadier cornering behaviour.

Which MS models fit these springs?

The MS-SSL180 is compatible with MSR-010 and MSR-010A chassis and installs in standard shock assemblies. They are a simple upgrade for MS1.0 drivers wanting enhanced asphalt performance.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Softer fronts can improve cornering speed by increasing tyre contact, but overall lap time depends on matching rear setup, damping and driver style. Test and adjust rather than assuming a universal gain.
They fit into standard MS1.0 shock bodies and work with stock shock hardware on MSR-010 and MSR-010A chassis. Ensure bearings and mounts are in good condition during install.
After fitting, re-check ride height, rebound and spring preload, and take a few slow laps to confirm balance before full-speed running. Minor trim to shocks or tyre pressures may be needed.
