Yokomo Dot 6 Gear Differential Fluid

The Yokomo YOKCSDOT6 is a silicone-based gear differential oil specified as Dot 6 for use in RC-scale gear differentials. It is designed to change low-speed shear and slip inside the diff so the car's cornering balance and throttle behaviour can be refined without mechanical modification.

In setup practice the oil is used to replace the diff's internal fluid and therefore control torque transfer timing between outputs. Dot 6 feels heavier than lighter numbers, increasing resistance to fast internal movement which can reduce inside-wheel spin and alter the vehicle's turn-in and acceleration characteristics.

Service guidance: carry out standard diff servicing when swapping oils, make sure the housing is clean and free of debris, and refill to the original level. Conduct incremental tests and log each change so you can return to earlier settings if needed. This product is for RC-scale applications only.

Choose Dot 6 when you want more internal diff resistance than lighter grades provide. It is useful if you need to reduce inside-wheel spin or want a firmer mid-corner balance under power.
Refit the differential and run controlled test laps, focusing on corner entry, mid-corner stability and drive-out. Compare times and subjective feedback, making only one change at a time for clear comparison.
Dot 6 changes fluid behaviour inside the differential but does not modify mechanical components. Proper servicing and debris-free assembly are important to maintain hardware longevity.
