Tuning-Focused Titanium Spring

This super soft titanium spring is intended as a low-rate replacement for R/C shock assemblies, improving low-speed compliance and altering initial suspension characteristics without changing the shock body.

Installation follows the usual threaded shock routine: remove the cap and old spring, fit the YOKYS2SST to the shaft or perch, and reassemble while setting preload and ensuring the spring sits squarely. Basic shock tools are sufficient; take care to avoid off-center mounting that can produce binding.

In tuning practice, using a super soft spring moves setup emphasis to damping and preload choices. Anticipate shifts in squat and initial bite, and test combinations of shock oil viscosity and preload spacers to obtain the desired ride height and transient behavior. Always confirm fit and clearance on your specific shock model before extended operation.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
With a lower spring rate, increase damping or firm up rebound to control body motion and prevent excessive squat. Test incrementally and note changes in corner entry and exit behavior.
Heavier oil can compensate for reduced spring stiffness by slowing piston movement. Start one or two grades heavier than your baseline and evaluate transient response and bottoming resistance.
Yes. A super soft front or rear spring can shift traction and weight transfer. Make small incremental changes and test to understand how the spring affects understeer or oversteer on your setup.
