350 Viscosity Silicone Shock Oil for R/C

Sold under the Yokomo YOKYS350 code with a #350 viscosity mark, this silicone shock oil is intended for R/C shock absorbers fitted to model cars and buggies. It provides the damping medium inside threaded shock bodies and cartridges, shaping compression and rebound without implying any connection to full-size vehicles.

As the damping medium, the oil's thickness dictates how the shock responds; heavier oils slow piston movement while lighter oils allow faster action. When altering viscosity, change in small increments and verify effects in controlled test runs, focusing on stability and the model's behaviour through sections with repeated bumps.

To service shocks, disassemble threaded cartridges, drain old fluid, inspect seals and pistons for wear or debris, then refill to the specified level and reassemble. Perform the job in a clean space and eliminate trapped air by steadily cycling the piston while topping up.

Practical note: 350cSt tends toward a medium-firm feel; pair the oil with appropriate spring rates and preload to tune the balance between grip and compliance. Make measured changes and reassess rather than switching viscosities drastically.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Yes, the 350 grade can be used front and rear depending on the balance you want; many setters run the same viscosity all around for consistent damping.
Mixing brands is not recommended without flushing the system first, as differing base fluids or additives can alter damping or cause contamination.
Replace oil if it becomes dirty, foamy, or if handling degrades; many racers check shocks between meetings and refresh oil during routine maintenance.
