Performance shock oil for refined handling

The Yokomo YOKYS600 is a silicone shock oil supplied as a single-grade #600 option. It is designed as an aftermarket accessory for scale R/C cars to adjust damping without changing mechanical components.

Practical impact: this oil modifies rebound and compression flow inside oil-filled shocks, influencing traction, body motion and response on corner exit and landings. The #600 viscosity increases damping compared with lighter fluids, helping to stabilise the car on smoother or quicker circuits.

Workshop advice: perform service in a clean area, take apart shocks to remove pistons and shafts, drain old oil, refill both the shock body and piston with the new fluid, reassemble and slowly cycle the shaft to remove trapped air. Try a controlled test run and refine setup by swapping oil grades or adjusting piston shims rather than changing shock length.
