Consistent damping for competitive setup work

The Yokomo YOKYS650 Super Blend Shock Oil #650 is a silicone-based damping fluid formulated for RC-scale shock absorbers and damper assemblies. As a dedicated shock oil, it influences compression and rebound behaviour without changing spring rates, giving you a predictable range for setup work on 1/10 scale touring cars, buggies and similar models.

In use it serves three practical roles: providing consistent damping characteristics across temperature ranges, lubricating internal shock components to reduce friction and wear, and helping maintain stable ride height and traction when you adjust piston, shim or spring settings. The "650" designation corresponds to a numeric viscosity grade commonly used in RC tuning; this oil sits in the mid-to-heavy range for those targeting firmer damping.

Installation notes: drain or service dampers on a clean bench, inspect seals and O-rings for damage before refilling, and work slowly to remove trapped air for consistent performance. Small volume changes produce noticeable effects on damping feel, so make incremental adjustments when switching viscosities.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
After filling, compress the shock fully several times while holding it upright to force out trapped air; repeat until the piston action feels smooth and consistent.
Change viscosity in small steps and test each change on a representative course. Log performance differences so you can revert or refine the setup efficiently.
Look for oil leaks, scored shafts, or sticky piston action. If any of these appear, rebuild or replace worn parts before adding fresh oil.
