Soft O-ring for damper sealing

The YS-7HGCA soft O-ring is designed for RC damper assemblies and uses a fluorine-based material offering high resistance to shock oils to help retain sealing performance over prolonged periods. Its soft form maintains piston contact and helps avoid the sticking that can upset damping consistency.

Also supplied is a polyslider shim which can be fitted depending on the cylinder profile to enhance contact between O-ring and bore and reduce the chance of oil leakage. Fit the shim where minor leakage is present or when changing between cylinder designs to improve sealing without replacing core parts.

Fitting is simple: remove the damper shaft and check the piston and cylinder for wear, fit the YS-7HGCA in place of the old O-ring, and only use the polyslider shim if needed for better contact. Reassemble and operate the shock slowly to ensure smooth stroke and no detectable leakage.

What maintenance will keep the YS-7HGCA performing well?

Regular inspection for cuts or wear and routine oil changes will preserve seal life; the fluorine-based compound helps resist oil-induced swelling but does not eliminate the need for periodic checks.

Can I expect this to stop tiny weeps without changing pistons?

In many cases, fitting the polyslider shim and the YS-7HGCA O-ring will correct minor weeps caused by reduced contact; however, significant damage to the piston or cylinder will still require component repair or replacement.
