Fine-tune damping with a silicone service oil

The Yokomo YS-800 Super Blend Shock Oil #800 is produced as a silicone damping fluid for RC shock absorbers, allowing you to adjust damping characteristics by selecting an appropriate viscosity when rebuilding or setting up shocks.

It is formulated to be broadly compatible with hobby silicone dampers and threaded shock cartridges used in many electric and nitro-scale models. This product is supplied as a fluid accessory and does not replace shock hardware.

Service recommendations include removing old fluid, cleaning pistons and cylinders, and filling slowly to prevent air pockets. Work the piston to expel trapped air, confirm O-rings and piston holes are correct, then reassemble and test on a controlled run. Because #800 is a heavier oil, apply gradual viscosity steps when tuning.

The Super Blend series from Yokomo emphasises stable viscosity under varying temperatures so the suspension response stays predictable, which helps when dialing-in setups across multiple track conditions.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
An 800-viscosity oil slows damper motion, producing firmer, more controlled rebound and compression. This can stabilise the chassis on high-speed sections but may reduce responsiveness on very slow inputs.
Yes, it is suitable for sealed and open cartridges alike, provided the seals are compatible with silicone oils. Always inspect seals for wear and replace them if necessary to avoid leaks.
Not always. #800 increases damping, which can make the setup feel stiffer; if that causes undesirable handling, consider softer springs or other suspension tweaks rather than changing oil repeatedly.
