Pitch diaphragm specifics for YRX 12

The Yokomo YOKYX40O silicone diaphragm is an aftermarket replacement part for the YRX 12 pitching damper assembly. Acting as the flexible membrane, it regulates the damper's internal air and oil flow and therefore affects initial pitch resistance and short-term response during acceleration and braking on 1/10 on-road vehicles.

Made in silicone, the diaphragm maintains consistent elasticity versus worn originals, helping to preserve predictable pitch response without needing to alter shock oil or springs. This component is supplied for radio-controlled models only and is not suitable for real vehicles.

Fitting is simple for those accustomed to damper service: remove the end cap, replace the old diaphragm with the new one taking care to seat it correctly, and reassemble while checking the seal for leaks. Keep the diaphragm away from dust and sharp objects during assembly to avoid premature failure.

As part of setup work, changing diaphragms is a fine-tuning step. A fresher or firmer diaphragm can reduce front-end dive and improve transient stability, while a softer diaphragm will allow more initial compliance. Use diaphragm swaps in conjunction with oil and spring adjustments to dial in handling.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The diaphragm mainly alters pitch response rather than direct tyre adhesion. However, by changing how the car noses into corners under braking or acceleration, it can indirectly influence weight transfer and front tyre contact.
Replace the diaphragm if you notice loss of elasticity, cuts, or persistent leaks. Under normal club use inspections every few sessions will reveal any deterioration requiring renewal.
No specialised tools are necessary beyond the usual small hex drivers and a clean work area. Handle the diaphragm gently, seat it evenly, and test the damper for leaks before returning the car to service.
