Replacement Shock Caps Explained

The Yokomo YS-8HD shock cap kit supplies four top caps intended for RC damper assemblies and offered as replacement parts. These caps act as the sealing and mounting interface on the shock head and are suitable for rebuilds and routine checks.

Each cap is finished in anodized aluminium to provide a durable contact surface and assist during preload adjustment, piston travel inspection, or when replacing aged components. Fitting is performed by disassembling the shock, swapping the top caps, confirming seals and thread engagement, then reassembling per standard damper rebuild practice. Typical hobby tools such as a hex driver are normally all that are required.
