RC tyre finishing band overview

The Yokomo YT-WG2 rubber band is a practical accessory for bonding and finishing rubber tyres on RC vehicles. It holds the tyre firmly against the wheel so the bead and rim meet closely, helping to eliminate gaps during adhesive cure and enabling finer trimming results.

Fit the band while the glue sets to preserve uniform pressure around the tyre bead; this is helpful when working with softer compounds or when re-carding a repaired tyre. The elastic band maintains seating while you inspect contact and carry out final trimming and cleaning.

Advice: seat the band evenly around the tyre, do not twist it, and confirm the bead is level before the adhesive cures. Store spare bands away from heat and sunlight to keep elasticity intact.

Compatibility

  • On-road rubber tires
  • Off-road rubber tires

They suit common RC rubber tyres, but check the band diameter and stretch range against smaller touring car bead profiles to confirm a snug, even fit.
Yes, keeping the bead pressed during cure reduces movement of soft compounds and helps you trim a cleaner edge without cutting too deep into the tyre wall.
Ensure the band held the tyre squarely, let the glue cure fully, then use a sharp blade and steady rotations to trim; consistent seating during cure is key to precise results.
