Upper-structure graphite brace for YR-X12

The Yokomo YX-03 graphite upper brace is supplied as an aftermarket upgrade for 1/12 competition cars and is specifically designed to match the YR-X12 chassis. It serves as a replacement for the stock upper brace and uses the original YR-X12 attachment locations for fitment.

Increasing the rigidity of the upper assembly alters the chassis' torsional characteristics, helping to manage weight transfer and providing a more immediate steering sensation. Suspension geometry is unchanged, so setup tweaks should focus on dampers and anti-roll bar settings to complement the brace.

Installation is straightforward using the YR-X12's existing upper mounts; no permanent changes to the chassis are necessary. Verify fastener condition and alignment during assembly to prevent uneven preload on the brace.

For upkeep, visually check the graphite for small cracks and examine the mounting holes for elongation after track sessions. Replace fasteners showing wear to maintain repeatable mounting and handling behaviour.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The YX-03 increases upper-section stiffness, which can produce crisper turn-in and a different mid-corner balance; expect to adjust damping and anti-roll settings to refine handling.
No trimming is required. The brace attaches to the existing YR-X12 mounting points and fits as a direct replacement without modifying the chassis.
After each event, look for hairline fractures in the graphite, check mounting hole integrity, and ensure fasteners are secure. Replace any damaged hardware to avoid fitment issues.
